Big Love Happens in Small Moments: The Keefer Wedding

This past weekend, I had the honor of photographing my very first wedding. Not only did the ceremony take place at my childhood home, but the morning itself brought a sense of indescribable love. There’s something to be said about witnessing true devotion between a couple that has a strong, intimate connection.

As a photographer, I’ve never had the opportunity to take on a wedding ceremony, big or small, all by myself. My style of shooting has always focused on capturing the “in between” moments of life - the unplanned, the unspoken, and the unforeseen details. This has been my foundation of photography, allowing everything to naturally fall into place, and the same can be said for Ashley and Brian’s relationship leading up to their special day of celebrating love.

Believe it or not, Ashley and Brian decided to get married at their scheduled Christmas Mini session just 3 days beforehand. When they came to me with this special request, I was overwhelmed with excitement, and it was an immediate “yes!” in my book. But along with this excitement came a sense of responsibility I needed to prepare myself for. From setting up the decor, arranging seats for close family and friends, and ordering a last-minute bouquet for Ashley, the bulleted list of to-dos in my head started to stack up. But I quickly took a step back and reminded myself of the mindset Ashley and Brian have: to take each moment as they come, focus on the simple things, and celebrate beautiful, once in a lifetime moments.

Sometimes the biggest moments in life are those that are unplanned. It’s easy to let yourself get caught up in the everyday hustle and bustle to the point where you lose sight of what really matters. Ashley and Brian’s love story and the way they planned their wedding day really puts life into perspective.

November 23, 2019 was nothing short of a dream. It’s indescribable to explain the love that was present between the Keefers. The universe has a magical way of bringing you exactly what you need at the time you need it. Mr. and Mrs. Keefer, THANK YOU a million times over for choosing me to capture your forever.
